AVAX XC2
Avax XC2 is the second generation of Gradient´s high level XC glider.
Development started at the end of the 2006 season and the first hard proof that things looked really good came in De Aar where several challenging days with cloud base over 5000m MSL and thermals around 6-8 m/s gave average XC speeds over 55 km/h! We continued the development during spring and summer 2007 proving the new design and materials. Close to completion four prototypes where used in the extreme conditions of X-Alps 07 to give feedback for final refinements.
Avax XC2 is optimized for excellent glide, handling and good behaviour while maintaining a high level of in-flight comfort for a glider in the "Open" category. The handling is precise and direct and the turn efficient. Gradient believes that the new Avax XC2 will find favour with experienced pilots looking for a high performance wing that is a pleasure to fly or new competition pilots who want to take a progressive approach in choosing a competition wing.
